Programmes: La Roche D'Hys - Domaine des Arts

Writing and Publishing:

L’Académie de la Roche D’Hys organizes and hosts international seminars/workshops for professional development in many areas of writing, publishing, translation, drawing upon our international contacts.

The Académie welcomes collaboration with educational institutions, organizations, and publishing companies, magazines, and media partners.

Writers Atelier - Past programmes:

The first writers’ Atelier took place in May 2005.  Working in collaboration with distinguished Canadian publisher, Black Moss Press, editors and writers from a variety of disciplines, poetry, fiction, non-fiction, were brought together for an intensive 8-day seminar workshop at La Roche D'Hys. Participants also gave public readings and had the opportunity of a fascinating encounter/exchange with Burgundian poets.  The success of the program in 2005, led to a repeat in 2006.

In 2007, in cooperation with the English and Publishing Program of the University of Windsor in Canada, the Académie hosted a 9-day intensive on writing and publishing. This was offered as a credit course for the students.

T
he guest speakers/seminars leaders included a professor/writer from the University of Rouen, a professor/translator from the Institute des Hautes Etudes Science Politique in Paris, a media consultant specialist from Paris.

As a culmination of the total experience each writers’ workshop ends with a public reading for all the participating authors both locally and at the celebrated Shakespeare & Co bookstore in Paris which hosts the event and, of course, sells the books.

As a result of the prolific and creative work done in the course of these workshops, a collection of “La Roche D’Hys poems and writings” is currently being compiled for publication.
