MUSIC. THEATRE, DANCE, LITERARY AND FINE ARTS
The ACADEMIE DE LA ROCHE D’HYS,
in collaboration with the Centre for International Cultural
Encounters, offers and hosts an exciting variety of programmes,
workshops, master classes,
seminars, conferences,
artists retreats in all arts and cultural
disciplines with a particular emphasis on encouraging open exchange
between participants from the four corners of the world.
C.I.R.C. or Centre for International Cultural Encounters is a not for profit volunteer association which helps promote, organize and present special concerts, exhibitions, theatrical and literary events at La Roche D’Hys and throughout the Region creating opportunities for meeting and dialogue between artists and the public.
Writing
and Publishing:
novels, poetry, crime-writing,
writing for the Theatre/ Film, Literature in Translation, editing, mass
market, etc.
Seminars, conferences, workshops guest speakers, seminar leaders
3 - 10 day sessions
Artists
and Professional Development Retreat:
Individuals or small groups all arts disciplines
can work on special projects in quiet, beautiful surroundings, in
isolation or in a creative interdisciplinary, international environment.
No structured sessions, 1-4 weeks
Music
and Dance:
Masterclasses, seminars, workshops, performances. Chamber music, voice/opera, composers, jazz symposium.
Injury prevention for musicians, body language for instrumentalists and
singers. Tai Chi and Yoga.
6-12 day sessions
Painting
and Sculpture Workshops:
Classes and individual work with guidance from
professional staff, outdoor sculpture competition.
Theatre
and Film:
Workshops, seminars, developing/exploring new
works, new approaches to established works. Mixed media, new
technologies. Special screenings.
5-15 day sessions
Public
Activities
Concerts, open workshops, exhibitions, film/cinema
screenings and showings, poetry festival, music festival. Organized and sponsored by local, municipal, regional and national
governments and corporations.
